|Welcome to Barden-Steeldeck Industries|
Barden-Steeldeck Industries Pty Ltd (BSI) is Victoria’s premier roofing company with a long and demonstrable history of delivering outstanding roofing solutions at Melbourne’s most iconic commercial and industrial projects.
In addition to its roofing division, Barden-Steeldeck Industries operates a sheet metal workshop which specializes in aluminium and stainless steel fabrication work, as well as general flashings that supplement the roof contracting side of the business. Barden also manufacture and sell a large range of commercial application ashtrays with our patented Flare Guard and waste bins to the general public, and a network of licensed distributors.
Established in 1974 by Barry Stokes and Reg Mullins as Barden Roofing, BSI has developed into a dynamic organisation through a combination of strong organic growth and strategic mergers including Steeldeck Industries P/L in 1993, which was involved in many of Victoria’s major projects during the 1970s and 80s. Steeldeck Industries had earlier acquired Holvex Pty Ltd, an old and highly reputable roofing and sheet metal firm.
The Holvex name lives on, having been adopted by our sheet metal workshop and the continuing manufacture of our architectural waste bins and ashtrays that Holvex were synonymous with for many years.
In 2006 four long-time employees were given the opportunity to purchase the BSI company with the impending retirement of the founder, Reg Mullins. These employees were Robert Hansen, Michael Shacklock, Mark Fisher and Nick Mullins.
In 2011 The business moved address to our new home in Hallam.
